About Qatar National Bank

Founded in 1964 as the first domestically owned commercial bank in Qatar. QNB grew into the largest bank in the Middle East and Africa by assets. The Qatar Investment Authority owns 50 percent. QNB operates in over 31 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. The bank acquired its stake in Egypts QNB Alahli and Finansbank in Turkey. QNB was hit by a major data breach in 2016 that exposed customer data. QNB pioneered Islamic banking windows alongside conventional banking. The bank finances major Qatari infrastructure projects related to the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Qatar Vision 2030. QNB has over 300 billion in assets and 28 million customers.
